Why this piece

The block, and why it holds a knife the way it does.

  • Strong neodymium magnets securely hold up to 7 knives of various sizes and weights
  • Solid oak strip on a brushed-steel mounting channel with a transparent finish for a sleek, screw-free look
  • Made with non-toxic and food-safe materials
  • Lifetime guarantee included
  • Keeps your knives organised and within reach
  • Features the engraved Oishya logo, symbolising three Japanese fans

Show off your knife collection with this drawer-less storage solution from Oishya. It is built from an oak strip on a brushed-steel mounting channel and features the engraved Oishya logo, symbolising three Japanese fans. Strong individual magnets hidden within the solid oak securely hold knives of all sizes, as well as scissors, bottle openers, and other metal utensils, keeping your kitchen clutter-free.

The oak strip has a smooth, hand-rubbed finish achieved by applying multiple layers of 100% natural oil, resulting in a non-toxic and food-safe surface. The rack’s holding power depends on the size, weight, and shape of the object, but it can hold even the longest sashimi knives. It can also be used to organise the office, bathroom, garage, or entryway.

To maintain the beauty and longevity of your Oishya magnetic knife rack, please note that due to the oak’s natural properties (tannin), knives should be dried before placing them on the rack to prevent any colouring reactions. As a handmade product, individual wood and metal characteristics may differ slightly from the pictured item.

Installation

Installation is simple: the steel channel mounts to the wall using standard fixings, and the hidden magnets hold the oak strip in place, creating a seamless, screw-free appearance. Just hang your rack on two common screws and fixings. The rack’s hole diameter = 8mm. With a lifetime guarantee, this Oishya magnetic knife rack is a practical addition to any kitchen.

Where it is made

Małopolska. The same workshop that finishes every Oishya handle.

The block is built in our Małopolska workshop in Poland, by the same craftsmen who finish every Oishya handle. The wood is selected for grain and density, the magnet bays routed to fit precisely, the finish the same food-safe oil-and-wax we use on the handles.

Because it holds the knife by the spine rather than forcing it through a slot, the edge never meets anything that could dull it. Knives sit handles-up, ready to grab, drying as they sit.

Care, briefly

Oiled wood needs to be oiled.

01.

Wipe down weekly.

A barely-damp cloth, no soap. The magnets are sealed, but standing water on the wood will leave marks over the years.

02.

Re-oil twice a year.

A teaspoon of food-safe mineral or camellia oil on a cloth. Let it soak in, wipe off the excess. Brings the colour back.

03.

Hang knives dry.

Don’t put a wet knife up. The magnet is strong enough to hold it, but moisture left there over time will mark the wood.

What you receive

In the box.

  • The block or rack you chose, finished and ready to mount or stand.
  • Fixings where the piece is wall-mounted, with a fitting guide.
  • A care card with the wipe-down routine and the twice-a-year oiling reminder.

Frequently asked.

How strong is the magnet?
Strong enough to hold a full chef's knife securely by the spine, but designed so the blade lifts off cleanly without dragging. It holds the knife, it doesn't fight you.
Will it scratch my knives?
No. The knife rests against wood, not against the magnet directly, and it's held by the spine — the edge never touches anything.
Wall-mounted or freestanding?
Both exist in the range. The wall racks come with fixings and a fitting guide; the freestanding block just needs a flat surface.
How do I keep the wood looking new?
Wipe it down weekly with a barely-damp cloth and re-oil twice a year with food-safe oil. That's all it asks.

Perfect magnetic strength and looks great.

This magnetic knife rack is both practical and stunning. The craftsmanship is evident in the beautiful wood and metalwork. Highly recommended if you want to declutter your counters while adding a modern design element.

Paul (verified owner)

I’m absolutely in love with this knife rack! It has transformed my kitchen and made my counter space feel so much more open. Plus, the copper and walnut tones are just gorgeous together.

Kayden (verified owner)

This rack is superb, holds up to 6 of my collection of knives (won’t fit more) and the knives stay in one place firmly. The only downside I would say is the price, but the quality compensates for that.

Got the brass one as a gift for my best friend and when I saw how great it was I ordered a second one (this time steel) for myself… great craftsmanship and attention to details.

This is a beautiful, well designed and highly functional piece of art. The racks you can get on Amazon usually are all-metal with visible magnets so my wife, being very picky design-wise, wouldn’t let me to mount it. I haven’t ordered anything from Oishya before so I was a bit worried if it arrives safely to us (We live in Texas). But now I’m glad I found this store. Everything went great and we love it and super simple to install. Well done! The whole experience, ordering through installation was perfect.

Brilliant! Absolutely stunning knife holder, easily holds my 5 knives (even Debas) and the the mounting it to the wall was easy peasy.
